That’s More Like It

Daily Weight Watchers Points Plus Allotment: 42 Points Plus 

Points Plus used today: 48

Weekly Points used: 6

I’m up and around!  The turned foot is mostly better. I had Subway leftovers for

Subway 6-inch tuna sub w/cheese and veggies: 15 Points Plus  

Then I did some Wii Fit Plus: 30 minutes of Advanced Step and 10 minutes of Rhythm Kung Fu, earning 4 activity points.

I spent the rest of the morning reading, then had 


Oatmeal, made with:

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats: 4 Points Plus 
  • 1 cup whole milk: 4 Points Plus
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar: 4 points plus
  • A pinch of salt, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and a tiny splash of vanilla extract: 0 Points Plus

Lunch Total: 12 Points Plus 

Isn’t oatmeal attractive?

After lunch I was back on the Wii Fit Plus for another 2 activity points: 9 minutes of Island Cycle (first time I’ve tried it and I didn’t really care for that one), 3 minutes of Rhythm Parade, 3 minutes of Perfect 10, and 5 minutes of advanced step.

The stats said I burned 444 calories during that one hour of Wii Fit today. I don’t know whether I buy that! It sounds like too much.  But I guess it’s possible that I really do burn that many calories by exercising because my weight adds a built in difficulty level.  Does anyone know how accurate these calculations really are?

 Soon I was craving something sweet, but I decided to go with a diet raspberry Snapple for 0 Points Plus.  

I ordered the groceries while I drank that, and got a little snacky too, so I had:


8 Tostitos Scoops tortilla chips: 2 Points Plus 


Then it was time for some housework and getting dinner going: the simplest red lentil soup you’ve ever seen. It’s just onion, garlic, cumin, olive oil, chicken stock, salt, red lentils, and lemon juice. My husband and I survived on this stuff when we were newly married and broke, and we have never lost our taste for it. I splurge for good chicken stock instead of bullion now, but other than that the recipe hadn’t changed, and it has become quite a comfort food around here.


  • 2 cups red lentil soup: 15 Points Plus
  • 1 whole wheat pita: 4 Points Plus

Dinner Total: 17 Points Plus

Basically, it was two of these: 

Times two.

And a beverage for the evening:

Poland Spring cherry sparkling water: 0 Points Plus.
